The Eastminster Choir

Currently led by our interim Music Director, Scott Pietrangelo, the Eastminster Choir is a 30-voice choir comprised of four professional soloists: Michelle Suzanne, soprano; Joy Klopp, alto; Scott Pietrangelo, tenor; Andrew Hodwitz, bass; and a team of dedicated pro-am singers of all ages and musical backgrounds.

Music is an integral part of our worship. The Eastminster Choir leads sung worship, and presents choral selections to enhance the message of the day. At Eastminster, we have eclectic musical tastes which the choir happily obliges by drawing from a wide range of musical styles. Our repertoire includes everything from J.S. Bach to Natasha Bedingfield, from Mozart to Musical Theatre, and from Gospel to Glee. As well as performing traditional classical works, the choir has presented Canadian premiers of new music and original compositions.

The Eastminster Choir stages concerts, hosts special events and, of course, celebrates together! In recent years, the choir has enjoyed being ambassadors for Eastminster, singing at a variety of community concerts, theatrical events, and fundraisers around the GTA.

The Eastminster Choir is joined by a love of music and a desire to offer our voices in praise, to increase our musical skills and vocabulary, and, above all, to have a good time!  (And we do have a good time!!!).

Eastminster Children's Choir

Children from ages 4 to 9 are welcome to join the Children’s Choir. Rehearsals are Thursdays from 6:00 pm to 6:45 pm in the choir room. Parents are welcome to audit the rehearsals or to take part in other various activities that are offered at the same time. Choristers will learn proper singing techniques, receive musical instruction, and  present selections in the Sunday morning service and at concerts. Of course, there are snacks!!!

We approach our music with a flair for the theatrical and have performed with American Sign Language, kazoos, and a bathtub with bubbles (you had to be there). This is a great opportunity for musical instruction and a deeper appreciation of music, movement, and team work.

No audition is required.

Eastminster Tweens & Teens

Tweens and Teens is an opportunity to make music for those aged 10 to 15 on Wednesdays from 4.15 to 5.00 pm (finishing at the end of May for the summer). Continuing on the skills learned in Children’s Choir: members of this group will have opportunity to play instruments of all varieties and flex their creative muscles. Whether singing, dancing, strumming, or drumming, there's something for everyone!
