On Sundays, children (from kindergarten to high school) are invited to Church School following the children’s time during worship. From approximately 10:45 to 11:30 am, the children are engaged in activities that stimulate their imaginations and help them to better understand what it means to live fully in God’s world.
The younger children are introduced to this concept through engaging Bible stories and hands-on activities. Our youth use Feasting on the Word, a lectionary-based curriculum, as the basis for their learning and discussions. Building a sense of caring community among our young people is a key goal – we incorporate music and prayer into our weekly time together and build in times for having fun and serving together.
Church School is led by a dedicated team of volunteer lay people. They are committed to acknowledging the unique gifts each child brings, and to enabling each child to share and develop his or her gifts in an environment that is compassionate, nurturing, and accepting. If you have children who are interested in attending Church School, simply ask to talk to one of the teachers, or join us when we go to our classes and we’ll help the children to get started.
