Sarah’s official title at Eastminster is Minister of Worship, Children, Youth, and Young Adult Ministry. It means that Sarah multitasks and wears many hats.
Sarah preaches and prays; she seeks ways to involve people of all ages in the life of the congregation, especially in our worship services; she coordinates the Youth Group with a team of leaders and works with the Church School to plan engaging activities for the children of Eastminster.
Sarah also meets with families preparing for Baptism and those interested in exploring church membership (link to Membership).
Sarah has a Master of Divinity from Emmanuel College and a Bachelor of Arts in Women’s Studies with a minor in Human Biology from the University of Toronto.
She has served congregations in Toronto, Brantford, and Orillia as a Staff Associate Minister and Intern since her ordination in 2004. She has worked extensively in ministry with children, youth, and young adults and is passionate about people of all ages being welcomed to the table that is church community.
Sarah says, “My hope for the church is that we live out our calling to be a prophetic voice and a source of great hope for a wounded world.”
A life-long resident of the east end of Toronto, Sarah lives there now with her partner Lisa, their children David and Denise, and four cats.
